Collection: Shimmering Tree Portraits

Inspired by the physical beauty and the symbolic meaning of trees this new collection of tree portraits explores how trees mark time and embody qualities of perseverance and shelter. By combining my photograph with a metal substrate or metal leaf I create shimmering images that resemble historical photographic techniques such as daguerreotypes and ambrotypes. The metallic backgrounds shimmer and change according to light conditions lending the work an ephemeral quality.
